おはよう、日本! – Japan, March 2019 (Part 5)

Day 5 (20 March 2019)

We got on the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo.

Upon reaching Tokyo, we checked in, and immediately made our way to Asakusa.

Freshly baked melonpan, a sort of brioche bread with cookie crust
The perpetually busy Nakamise Dori (Nakamise Street) of Asakusa
Sakura just starting to bloom

More sakura

After exploring Asakusa, we made our way to the nearby Tokyo Skytree and explored its surroundings, hunting for more sakura. It was a warm, sunny day, and temperatures went up till 20°C, good conditions to help the sakura bloom.

One of my favourite photos from this trip, because it’s so quintessentially Japan – The Tokyo Skytree framed by cherry blossoms on a clear day
I sure hope you’re not tired of the sakura photos by now

Dinner for that evening was a decadent one. It was at none other than Ramen Ouka. This restaurant’s star of the show is definitely the Spicy Wagyu Beef Ramen. We had the S Grade set. It was my first time experiencing meat melting in my mouth… just thinking about it makes me emotional. The price makes me emotional too… but it was worth every yen!
